Sensitivity Reading

We will check your manuscript for offensive content, misrepresentation, stereotypes and biases, and we'll make recommendations on changes for any content we highlight. We will always do our best to match you with Sensitivity Readers who are best suited for the content of your manuscript based on their own relevant lived experience.

Basic Word Sensitivity Check

$.002 per word $50 minimum

We will check your manuscript for the use of slurs and other words that might be considered harmful to marginalized groups, and offer possible alternatives for any we may find.

Note that this service does not check for stereotypes, misrepresentation, or biases, etc. within the plot of the story.

Content Sensitivity Check

$.008 per word $75 minimum

Not only will we check for harmful words, but also problematic stereotypes, misrepresentations, biases, etc. within your manuscript.

We'll offer possible solutions that can be used to correct any sensitivity issues found.

Comprehensive Team Sensitivity Reading

$.01 per word $250 minimum

We will put together a team of at least 5 Sensitivity Readers from demographics best suited to check the content of your manuscript for sensitivity issues.

In manuscripts with specific representation, we prioritize Sensitivity Readers with relevant lived experience whenever possible.
